A VISIT TO RADIOMEGARON

I visited the Radio House of ERT during its occupation by the staff,  journalists, reporters and technicians.

First  image is from the entrance, where various mobile canteens selling hotdogs, souvlaki, beer and refreshments.

Protesters from all left groups and parties had gathered in front of the building.    Normally one wishing to enter the Radio House in the past, he had to show the identity card to the warden.

Banner calling for strikes, occupation of state buildings and withdrawal of Greece  from the eurozone / European Union.

Flags of  ΠΑΜΕ, organization affiliated to the Communist Party (KKE), left at the main entrance waiting for the bearers.

A van of EBU covering the events in the yard and probably transmitting live video through internet.

This day the employees of ERT took over the frequencies of medium waves 666 KHz, 729 KHz, 981 KHz, 1008 KHz (Corfu) and 1404 KHz (Komotini), that the previous days remained silent.

Short waves (9429 KHZ) and 1260 kHz from Rodos Island continue active.

They are now two radio channels in operation.

One channel, right now in the evening, is broadcasting a wonderful concert by the symphony orchestra of ERT. The opening of it was by the interval signal  “Tsopanakos”, first notes of the song : “Once I was a shepherd”. At the end the concert closed with the national anthem of Greece "Hymn to liberty"

This photo has been taken inside the Radio House.

The way that local press presented the events was very similar.
